My dad passed 13 years ago but I just remembered something and had to laugh out loud. As a little kid he would fix us breakfast and to us (my brother and I) it seemed like the most normal things in the world he fixed for instance we would eat cold cereal with a scoop of vanilla ice cream mixed in(hey delicious don't knock it until u try it), and his specialty broiled rice, with scrambled eggs on top, and grape jelly on top of that. It wasn't until we got up in age where we would go to sleepovers and when their parents would fix breakfast I would ask well where is the ice cream..boy u guys are weird..lol I just had a moment. What did your parents do that was strange but seems normal(at the time) to u?My father passed away in 2003.
I think of him everyday. Sometimes the rough times and sometimes the good times.
I can remember when we were small and would do something we know we should not have done he would ask us if our mother ever had any kids that lived. It is funny now. Ohh the cereal & ice cream thing never had it but that sounds GOOD!
Anyway I still have my mom & dad...but I lost my brother in August he was 9 years older than me....I remember random things everyday like when my dad used to drink & my parents would argue(thank god they don't anymore)But i would get so scared & just cry & cry & my brother would jus hold me & tell me it was ok & stroke my hair.& then another time He moved out when He was 17 & I didn't see him for months & When I seen him he just held me for like 20 minutes. I remember the necklace he gave me for Christmas 3 years ago...It's just the little things u remember that mean so much.
....ok I just notice this answer was not what u were askin for but atleast i got it off my chest.Well my om mixes Beef Stew with macaroni noodles ( NO CHEESE just noodles and beef stew ) when my mom made it for me with a friend over her reaction was what the heck is that !?!?!My mom's dad died when she was 16, now shes 42. She always talks about her dad, almost everyday. She sees pipes and cigars and thinks about him. My brothers looks just like him and she mentions that a lot.
I think that is totally normal.
