Receiving blank emails

However, when I look at the properties of the email, then look under the 'Details' tab, click the 'Message source' button and scroll down, I can see the message that has been sent to me - it just doesn't appear on the screen, either in the split-screen inbox view or when I double-click on the email to open it up in another window.
I receive other emails fine - can anyone give me an idea as to where to start with this one?
