Says to Format Camera card?

I have a Nikon S210, and whenever i turn it on it says "! Card it not formatted. Format card?" & i don't want to delete all of my pictures. is there anyway to fix it without it erasing all my pictures? Please helpp!

You cannot format the card until you have copied all the image files to your computer (something you should as soon as you can after a shoot). The "Card not formatted" says that you have a corrupted card. You will have to use a image recovery program to save them before you format it.

Lexar and San Disk both make such programs (around $30). You will also need to use the card reader on your computer, since the recovery process can take longer than your cameras battery will keep the camera turned on.

If you have been deleting images from the card to make room for more images instead of 1) having a second card (Under $10 for a 1GB card) or 2) copying all the images to your computer and then formatting the memory card using the format feature in the cameras menu
